Jewell is the most popular black raspberry for a few reasons.  First, it produces very large raspberries with a deeply sweet flavor (they ripen from red to black).  Next, it is exceptionally hardy and easy to grow.  Thirdly, it has a upright growing habit meaning you can do way less trellising/support.  Sounds pretty awesome, right?
