'Winter Density' is kind of an interesting variety in that some would categorize it as a Romaine-type and some a Bibb-type. It basically is a tall buttercrunch. The heads are dark-green, heavy and compact reaching eight ten inches in height and across. 'Winter Density' is slow to bolt in the heat and is tolerant of some frost which makes it suitable for growing in succession plantings through the gardening year.
